As part of the MSL Society 2022 annual conference, some of the authors led an interactive workshop on “Evaluating MSL Performance and Advocating for a Promotion”. Key objectives of the workshop included: Understanding the challenges and solutions to guide performance evaluation and staff promotion. An MSL is a member of the medical affairs team within a pharma company. An MSL is a non-promotional role. The MSL acts as the bridge between the internal pharma company and the external Medical project based KPIs: The number of publications, data generation (e.g. local abstract presentation, and number of QR codes scanned of your abstract), data dissemination (e.g. number of departmental presentations and the rating by the HCPs of your presentation), clinical studies recruitment to target, investigator-initiated studies
